(The original is smaller than an OnScreen Control "puck". It is absolutely "crisp" at any scale size.
Without specifying dimensions, its drawing the 'small' image and then its getting scaled up, causing the blurriness. I suspect whats going on is that the PDF has a scale that it would 'like' to use, which is smaller than the image you want to draw. This is a PDF of a Hand Cursor blown up to 2300% its actual size in FCPX. All you have to do is scale up the dimensions. This will ensure your images are sharp and legible without you comprising on quality. Use an online converter like ilovepdf which will also convert your pdf to a jpeg. While FCPX does not support *this* feature, Motion does. Open the PDF in Preview (native Mac image viewing app) and then under the file menu choose to export, then in the save box under Format choose PNG or JPG. Your PDF's actual size is probably rather small.
